The trek to the Rajgad Fort, started off with inspiring notes, and as we embarked on the trek, we continued to enjoy (and capture) amazing scenery.

Trails, bordered by lovely flora, make it such a pleasant trek... Bumblebees seem to have no time to soak in the beauty... Bumblebees seem to have no time to soak in the beauty... Frankly, it's hard to decide, what to click: lovely contrasts!

Some nice flora along the trails, capture your attention (if you care to look, that is!) Pretty little flowers along the trails... The Rajgad Fort beckons in the distance! Pausing to catch a breath, and the view, as the climb steepens...

As it is just past the monsoons, the grass is dry, and contrasts with the clear blue skies for a lovely frame... Earthy contrasts... Pausing to catch a breath, and the view, as we await the rest of the group Enjoying the view; that's not a drone is it? :) Taking in the scneic views of the surroundings... A group of energetic trekkers making their way with the Maratha flags (and chants) amidst the scenic contrasts The group resumes its mission after the pause...nothing can stop us now! Rajgad Fort Trek, Pune

:: Rajgad Fort Trek, Pune

Inspired by some awesome photographs of Rajgad Fort, the initial capital of the Maratha Empire, on the outskirts of Pune, we were able to plan a day trip to this historic place recently. With the weather having turned cooler, it was time to embark on an adventurous trek to this place, about 60km south of Pune, off Nasrapur.

The trek was organized by Nelda Foundation, and so it was easy for us to tag along.
As always, I was armed with my camera, and didn’t loose an opportunity to click a lot of pictures.

I’ll be adding them here, as and when I get the chance, but, do have a look.

Our trekkers group, at the base, all ready to reach the fort A first view of our destination - the majestic Rajgad Fort! It's a long walk, but the hues of the landscape are inspiring nevertheless! One can only imagine the views from the top of the fort, a solid 4600ft high!
